Bigamist Uses Sodomy Ruling as Defense

Focus on the Family, December 2, 2003

A Utah bigamist has cited the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision decriminalizing sodomy as reason for his convictions to be overturned.

Tom Green maintains that if two homosexuals have a right to privacy the state can’t violate to enforce laws against homosexual sex, the state has no business telling him he can’t be married to five women.

“It doesn’t bother anyone, (and with) no compelling state interest in what you do in your own home with consenting adults, you should be allowed to do so,” Green’s attorney, John Bucher, argued to the Utah Supreme Court.
