SINGAPORE—Police have rejected an application by Jungle Media to hold a party called SnowBall.04

It was to be held at the former Warehouse Disco along River Valley Road on Christmas Day.

In explaining its decision, Police say the organisers—who also held the Nation.04 event—had given assurances that these would not be “gay parties”.

But Police noted that promotion materials were widely advertised on a known gay portal fridae.com.

Police say at the Nation.04’s opening ball at Suntec earlier this year, patrons of the same sex were seen behaving intimately.

Several complaints were also received about the openly gay acts there.

Police reiterated that while they do not discriminate against gays, they recognise that Singapore is still largely a conservative and traditional society.
