Nigeria
- Statute: Chapter 42, section 214/Sharia law
- Penalty: 14 years in prison/Death by stoning
- Restrictions:
Chapter 42 of the criminal code, section 214, states that any person who
"has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature" or
"permits
a male person to have carnal knowledge of him or her against the order of
nature is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years."
Introduction of Islamic Sharia law in some northern states has lead to
death by stoning.
