Egypt: Teenager’s Appeal Delayed

A teenager who was arrested in May for alleged gay prostituttion has had
his appeal delayed.
The teenager, 16, was arrested along with 51 other men at a boat party on
the Nile in May. He is appealing against a three year hard labour sentence.
His appeal was due to take place on Wednesday 21 November. But, according
to Egyptian newspaper, Al Wafd his lawyer was ill.
The teenager’s appeal has now been scheduled for Wednesday 28th November.
Meanwhile Michale Cashman, the openly gay MEP for the West Midlands, is
seeking an apology from the Egyptian government over the so called
"gay" trial.
