Vol. 4, Issue 24, June 15, 2001 (excerpt)
Pro-family activists in Virginia are encouraged by a recent Virginia
Supreme Court ruling on sodomy. The Court rejected an appeal by ten men who
had been convicted for having homosexual sex in a park. The ruling means that
sodomy (a Class 6 felony) is still illegal in Virginia--and that means that
children will not be subjected to homosexual recruitment programs in the
public schools. States with sodomy laws can prohibit the promotion of illegal
acts in schools. According to Joe Glover of the Family Policy Network, this
also means that homosexuals can still be prohibited from engaging in sex acts
in public parks.
