 Re: “Senator defends ‘gay’ remarks” (TNT, 4-23).

U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) spoke his mind honestly about how he feels about homosexuality. Gays and Democrats now want him removed from Senate leadership. This really does amount to censorship and intolerance on the part of gays and Democrats.

Santorum has every right to speak his mind and should never be punished for doing so. If we are to go down the road of punishing those who speak their minds, especially those who are in law-making positions, then why even have elections to uphold our representative form of government? There is a reasonable expectation that opinions will differ. That’s freedom.
